Answer:
Laser hair removal no matter what area of the body always takes more than one session and, in fact, typically takes six to eight treatments spaced one to two months apart to give excellent permanent hair reduction.  A single laser hair removal treatment is really almost completely worthless since you will get very little permanent hair reduction with just a single session.

Question:
Can I get laser hair removal on my eyebrows so that they are permanently shaped the way that I want?

Answer:
Yes, you can definitely get laser hair removal to the eyebrow area and what we will frequently do is make a template out of some thick paper in the shape of the brow that you would like and then cover the hair that we would like to protect and keep allowing the laser light to remove the remaining hairs outside of this template.

Answer:
Laser hair removal can be performed on virtually any area of the body other than the eyelids.  Essentially anyplace that there is unwanted hair that has dark coloration to the hair can be treated successfully with laser hair removal.

Question:
My father has some really awful looking hair sprouting from his ears. Will laser hair removal work on this type of hair?

Answer:
As long as the hairs on the ears are dark, laser hair removal can provide a very significant improvement in hair reduction.  If the hairs are gray, unfortunately there is not enough pigment in the hair to allow for the laser energy to be absorbed and injure the follicle and these, therefore, are very unsuccessfully treated.

Is laser hair removal effective on all types of hair, even coarse hair?

Answer:
Laser hair removal can be very effective on even coarse hair, but it is important that the hair has some pigment in it, so it is best on the darker hair colors.  Overall, laser hair removal is rather ineffective with blond or gray hairs.  The thickness of the hair, however, really does not impact the end result, but it does impact the settings that we use on the laser.
