Dr. Campbell is exactly right. There are numerous procedures performed and then you throw in all your unique individualities, your unique face, etc. There is no one size fits answer to that question unfortunately. Having said that, most patients still look great 10 years later.

For deeper lines above the lip that don't respond well to Botox or fillers, I recommend an erbium laser resurfacing. It causes 5-7 days of downtime, but the results are outstanding and last for years!

Everyone understands that whenever you're fighting age, you're often fighting a struggle with one's body. No matter what you choose to do, you will still end up wrinkly and saggy skin. However, because of technologies such as laser skin tightening in medical spas, these signs can be further delayed to the future. There is nothing wrong with attempting to look young. Because when we look young, we feel young.

Botox can improve the lines above the mouth, but I feel in a very limited fashion. In my personal experience, the lines are better treated with injectable fillers like Juvederm and Restylane. This only applies to relatively deep lines that number only a few. If there are a multitude of visible lines, then the fillers are limited in their ability to treat these without creating an overly inflated lip. At that point, I recommend the consideration of deep erbium laser resurfacing as this will permanently rid the patient of unwanted lip wrinkles and can even treat very deep lines extremely well. The downside of the laser peel is that it needs a week of downtime to heal.

So, lines above the mouth will not benifit from the use of botox? What do you do with lines from smiling above the lip? Fillers really do not seem to help either.
