Brow Lift
An aging and low set brow can make you look tired or angry. A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, can improve the appearance of an aging brow area by lifting and tightening the forehead and raising the eyebrows. Forehead wrinkles and tension lines are minimized, creating a fresher, more youthful look to the area above the eyes.
Brow Lift Candidates
The best time to have a forehead/brow lift is at the first signs of drooping and wrinkles in the forehead and eye area. Dr. Campbell has treated male and female patients in a wide range of ages with eye brow and forehead problems.
To determine the possible outcome of brow lift surgery, you can conduct this simple test. While looking in a mirror, place your palms at the outside areas of your eyes just above your eyebrows, and then gently move the skin out and up to raise the area. The resulting elevation of the eyebrow brightens the appearance of the eyes by providing a more youthful, rejuvenated "frame" around the eye.
Personal Brow Lift Consultation
During a brow lift consultation, Dr. Campbell will examine your hairline, forehead height and character, upper eyelid skin and position, and eyebrow character and position, as well as the eyebrow relationship to the bone around the eye.
The Brow Lift Procedure
Dr. Campbell uses an endoscope, a small tube used to view the body's interior, in the majority of his brow lift procedures. This allows for minimal incisions during the procedure. Because the incisions are hidden within the hair and all of the surgery is performed under the skin, the incisions are virtually undetectable.
During brow lift surgery, small muscles are removed between the eyes to lessen the wrinkles between the eyebrows. Forehead tissue is moved, elevated, and secured in a more pleasing position. A high forehead can actually be reduced in size at the same time the brows are elevated by making a beveled incision within the hairline. This results in lowering the hairline and the resulting scar is hidden just behind the first few hairs.
Recovery Following Brow Lift
Brow lift surgery at Campbell Facial Plastic Surgery is done as an outpatient procedure. Patients who undergo endoscopic brow lift surgery will recover within one to two weeks. There is usually little or no bruising and minimal swelling that is only noticeable as a shiny forehead. Sutures are usually placed under the scalp and dissolve spontaneously. Most visual signs of the surgery typically fade completely within a week or two.

The resulting improvement to the brow area is immediate and results usually last a lifetime.
