Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) improves the look of the eye area by lifting droopy eyelids, and removing excess skin and fat deposits to minimize puffiness and under eye bags. Dr. Campbell can perform eyelid surgery at his Wisconsin practice on both the upper and lower eyelids.

Eyelid Surgery Candidates
There is no correct age for eyelid surgery. Those who notice signs of aging in the eye area often seek eyelid surgery as a way to brighten their appearance. Some patients have eyelid surgery at our Wisconsin practice as early as their 20s or 30s to reduce the look of inherited traits such as under eye bags and droopy eyelids. When droopy eyelids cause severe sight impairment, the surgery can help improve sight and may even be covered by medical insurance.
Personal Eyelid Surgery Consultation
During your eyelid surgery consultation at our Wisconsin practice, Dr. Campbell will examine your eyes and lids, looking for signs of excess laxity or infection. It is important for him to know if you have a history of autoimmune or thyroid disorders, dry eye, or previous eye surgeries. Digital imaging can give you an idea of the improvement that eyelid surgery can make in your overall appearance.
The Eyelid Surgery Procedure
Eyelid surgery for the upper eyelids involves making incisions where the skin crease forms, minimizing the appearance of the resulting scar. Excess skin, fat, and muscle are removed, creating a more vibrant, youthful look. Many times the upper eyelid surgery can be performed under local anesthesia in the office setting. For the lower eyelids, incisions are commonly made on the inside of the lower lid, thus eliminating a scar on the skin. Excess fat is then removed to reduce the appearance of under eye bags. In certain patients, the fat is repositioned instead of being removed to avoid a “hollow” appearance that frequently occurs from overaggressive treatment of the eyelids.
Recovery Following Eyelid Surgery
Recovery time is short with eyelid surgery at Campbell Facial Plastic Surgery in Wisconsin and patients are able to go home the same day. Eyes may be temporarily more sensitive to light, and medication and eye drops may be provided to ensure a comfortable recovery.
Sutures are removed four to five days following eyelid surgery. A small amount of bruising may appear around the eyes, which usually disappears within 10 days along with most of the swelling that is experienced. A small amount of remaining swelling may take several months to fully subside.
Eyelid Surgery Results
The results of eyelid surgery appear virtually immediately and can last a lifetime. However, the eyes can sag again, but not to the extent that they would have if eye surgery had not been performed. Overall, you will see a refined look with a younger, firmer-looking eye area that radiates to the rest of your face.

Forehead / Brow Lift
An aging brow area can make you look tired or angry. A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, can improve the appearance of an aging brow area by lifting and tightening the forehead and raising the eyebrows. Forehead wrinkles and tension lines are minimized, creating a fresher, more youthful look to the area above the eyes.

Brow Lift Candidates
The best time to have a forehead / brow lift is at the first signs of drooping and wrinkles in the forehead and eye area. Dr. Campbell has treated patients in a wide range of ages for a brow lift at his practice just north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
To determine the possible outcome of brow lift surgery, you can conduct this simple test. While looking in a mirror, place your palms at the outside areas of your eyes just above your eyebrows, and then gently move the skin out and up to raise the area. The resulting elevation of the eyebrow brightens the appearance of the eyes by providing a more youthful, rejuvenated “frame” around the eye.
Personal Brow Lift Consultation
During an initial brow lift consultation at our practice, just north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Campbell will examine your hairline, forehead height and character, upper eyelid skin and position, and eyebrow character and position, as well as the eyebrow relationship to the bone around the eye.
The Brow Lift Procedure
Dr. Campbell uses an endoscope, a small tube used to view the body’s interior, in the majority of his brow lift procedures. This allows for minimal incisions during the procedure. Because the incisions are hidden within the hair and all of the surgery is performed under the skin, the incisions are virtually undetectable.
During brow lift surgery, small muscles are cut between the eyes to lessen the wrinkles between the eyebrows. Forehead tissue is moved, elevated, and secured in a more pleasing position. A high forehead can be reduced in size and eyebrows can be elevated by making a beveled incision within the hairline.
Recovery Following Brow Lift
