Chin Augmentation
Chin augmentation enhances the contours of the face and strengthens the appearance of a receding chin by increasing its projection. Chin augmentation can be achieved through the use of implants and/or by readjusting the chinbone.

Chin Augmentation Candidates
Chin augmentation can create a stronger and more balanced profile for those with a receding chin or “fleshy” neck. A well defined chin can also balance a prominent nose.
Personal Chin Augmentation Consultation
During a chin augmentation consultation at our Wisconsin practice, Dr. Campbell will examine your chin, including dentition and occlusion. Digital imaging helps Dr. Campbell determine which type of chin augmentation to use to achieve the results you desire.
The Chin Augmentation Procedure
Chin augmentation with implants includes placing a prosthetic implant over the chinbone (mandible) through an incision under the chin or under the lower teeth inside the mouth. If the teeth do not fit together properly, orthognathic surgery can sometimes be performed to improve occlusion as well as chin appearance.
Recovery Following Chin Augmentation Surgery
Recovery following chin augmentation at Campbell Facial Plastic Surgery in Wisconsin is usually mild. Slight swelling can last several weeks to several months and make the area look over-augmented.
Chin Augmentation Results
The stronger chin and profile that is created by chin augmentation is visible immediately following surgery and lasts a lifetime. However, due to swelling, final results may not be visible for several months.
Cheek Augmentation/Implants
Full cheeks give definition to the face and create an overall youthful appearance. If the cheeks are the problem area, implants can be used to enhance the contours of the face and balance other facial features.

Cheek Augmentation Candidates
Patients who have thin, flat cheeks or a sunken appearance can benefit from cheek implants offered at our Wisconsin practice. Fat pads that give the cheeks definition can move, flatten, and even disappear with age, creating a bony appearance that enhances the look of wrinkles and lines. Cheek implants add definition to the cheek area, while balancing other facial features for a more youthful appearance.
Personal Cheek Augmentation Consultation
Dr. Campbell will examine the cheek area and choose the correct size of cheek implants for the look you desire. Digital imaging will help both you and Dr. Campbell determine the desired outcome.
The Cheek Augmentation Procedure
During cheek augmentation surgery, incisions are placed in the mouth above the upper teeth. The prosthetic cheek implants are placed over the bony portion of the cheek and are frequently secured with a tiny screw.
Recovery Following Cheek Augmentation
Recovery for augmentation with cheek implants at Campbell Facial Plastic Surgery in Wisconsin is typically mild. As with chin augmentation, slight swelling can last several weeks to several months and make the cheeks look over-augmented.
Cheek Augmentation Results
The fuller, more youthful appearance of the cheek area and overall facial contours created by cheek implants is visible immediately after surgery and the results last a lifetime. Due to swelling, final results may not be visible for several months after the surgery.
Otoplasty
Otoplasty, or ear surgery, performed by Dr. Campbell at his Wisconsin surgery center can bring balance and a pleasing look to misshaped or disproportionate ears and create a look that will fit with the rest of the face.

Otoplasty Candidates
Otoplasty changes the shape and size of the ears to create a more proportionate look and can achieve the following results:
- Set prominent ears back closer to the head
- Reduce the size of large ears and stretched earlobes
- Increase the size of unusually small ears (also known as “cupped ear”)
- Correct “lop ear” a condition in which the tip folds down and forward
- Improve the look of “shell ear” a condition in which the ear is missing the curve or the outer rim and natural folds and creases
- Create ears for those born without them or who lost them due to injury
Unlike the majority of facial plastic surgery, which is performed on adults, otoplasty is more commonly performed at our Wisconsin facial plastic surgery facility on children. The cartilage is most easily sculpted between the ages of four, when the ears are almost fully grown, and 14. However, adults are also excellent candidates, and otoplasty surgery on adult patients can frequently be performed in the office using local anesthetic.
Personal Otoplasty Consultation
During a consultation, Dr. Campbell will examine the external and internal ear structures to determine if the surgery can be performed in the office under local anesthesia, or if it will need to be performed in the surgery center.
The Otoplasty Procedure
During the procedure, incisions are hidden on the backside of the ear in the natural crease. Cartilage is exposed, then cut and molded to create a more pleasing appearance. The skin and cartilage is held in place with sutures.
Recovery Following Otoplasty
A large, soft dressing is placed around the ears following surgery and is removed the next day. A small amount of bruising and swelling is common, but usually subsides within seven to 10 days.
Otoplasty Results
Patients emerge from otoplasty surgery at our Wisconsin practice with ears that are more proportionate to their facial features, creating an overall pleasing appearance. These results last a lifetime.
