Dr. Campbell Emcees for MCCD’s Top Chefs Competition
The Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities (MCCD) recently held its annual Top Chefs Competition and fundraiser at the beautiful Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake. The event raised $67,000 to help cover the costs of medical treatments for children with disabilities.
The winners of this year's Top Chefs competition were the Paddock Club's Lynn Chisholm, who was the winner of the Judge's Award, and Lake Street Cafe's Andrew Thaldorf, who was the winner of the People's Choice Award.
The emcee for the event was Dr. Andrew Campbell, a board certified facial plastic surgeon who also was a former President of the Sheboygan County Medical Society. Dr. Campbell is a frequent volunteer in the community, and is also active in the organization Face to Face which provides pro bono surgical care to underprivileged patients who are in need of plastic and reconstructive surgery services.
In addition to his hosting duties, Dr. Campbell also had high praise for the Top Chefs event. "This competition is remarkable. Not only do guests enjoy the finest gourmet meals prepared by top area chefs, but more importantly, they raise money and help kids in our area with disabilities."
Dr. Campbell is a graduate of the School of Medicine at Indiana University and completed his residency at the University of Cincinnati, where he received the Altar Peerless Memorial Award which is presented to the top chief resident. He is an examiner for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and has written numerous medical articles and book chapters on facial plastic surgery. He serves as the medical director of the Quintessa Medical Spas. In addition to his expertise in traditional facial plastic surgery techniques such as rhinoplasty, face lifts, and implants, Dr. Campbell is also experienced in the latest non-surgical cosmetic procedures, including injectable fillers, advanced laser techniques, and Ultherapy.
The Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities was established in 1997 by several local business owners to raise money to support the families of children suffering from physical and developmental challenges. Currently, the MCCD is providing assistance to 25 families, and the group uses 100% of all funds received to provide assistance to disabled children.
