Reduce the Signs of Aging and Reveal Healthier Skin
Skin resurfacing can reduce the effects of aging and sun exposure and reveal healthy, youthful skin. Skin resurfacing techniques such as chemical peels, laser resurfacing, and microdermabrasion are also performed at our Quintessa Medical Spa to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scars and skin discolorations.
Personal Consultation
During a preliminary consultation, Dr. Campbell may use an ultraviolet lamp to detect pigmentation problems in the skin and a pre-peel cream will be prescribed to prepare the skin for the peel process. Medium-depth peels are typically performed in the office, while full face deep peels are performed in the operating room.
What is a Laser and How Does it Help My Skin
When a laser is used to peel the superficial skin, the thermal energy from the laser causes cells to regenerate and rebuild the naturally occurring collagen. Laser peels restore elasticity, rebuild the skin's support structure, and refine the skin's surface to smooth out wrinkles and decrease uneven pigmentation. Just as with chemical peels, the depth of the laser peel determines the time it takes for the skin to heal.

What Kind of a Laser do You Use
At Campbell Facial Plastic Surgery, we often use an Erbium laser, and treatments can be performed in our office in minutes - a topical numbing cream placed on their skin prior to treatment. In addition to convenience, an Erbium laser is very flexible and an affordable tool to help our patients achieve great results as it can be adjusted to meet the desires and goals of the patient. For example, a patient seeking an aggressive or deeper treatment can be treated with the Erbium laser but know that they will be red for a few days. For those that do not have as much time or wish for a lighter treatment, a micropeel will fit you best. A micropeel can be performed and leave the skin a little pinkish in color and last probably for less than a day. NOTE: For those patients who opt for the lighter treatment, additional or series of treatments (3 to 4) may be needed to achieve the optimum results, but they can expect nice results even after one treatment.
Pigment Removal Using IPL
Our experienced laser technicians can remove port wine stains, brown age spots, and freckles using lasers. Gentle flashes of intense pulse light (IPL) break up the pigment spots by heating the epidermis. After several days the spots begin to lift and disappear, revealing a more youthful look with no "downtime." We will create a personalized treatment to address your individual concerns at the time of your consultation.
Oxy-Mist is the new non-surgical technique for rejuvenating the skin (Amino-Plex® + Oxygen = Oxy-Mist).
Oxy-Mist was developed 10 years ago for the medical industry. Clinical studies show that Oxy-Mist helps promote a better environment for the skin to repair itself after environmental damage, a peel, laser resurfacing or cosmetic surgery. It is administered with 100% medical grade oxygen to propel the Amino-Plex® and micellized vitamin E onto the surface of the skin. By utilizing oxygen as a delivery source, we promote wound repair and cellular renewal. When skin is compromised, the Oxy-Mist promotes healing and rejuvenation by replacing amino acids, trace elements and electrolytes that were lost. These ingredients are essential to cellular existence and re-juvenation of the cells. Amino-Plex® has shown to be effective for daily skin care by increasing the moisture balance of the skin, helping provide better cell nutrition and improving collagen and elastin synthesis, all necessary elements for more youthful skin!
Oxy-Mist can breathe new life into your skin, heal your skin faster after a procedure with it's soothing properties, and provide anti-aging properties that restore valuable nutrients that were lost in the aging process or by environmental damage. If you are looking for the answer to healthy, vital looking skin, then Oxy-Mist is the answer.
Recovery and Results From a Laser Skin Resurfacing
Your skin will feel swollen and tight immediately after the peel and you may experience a warm, tingling sensation. Depending on the depth of the peel, recovery can take from a few days up to a week. Redness can last from a few days to months, but eventually disappears. Our trained experts at Quintessa Medical Spa in Sheboygan can advise you on the best makeup techniques and products to use to cover any redness that is still present after your skin has healed.
