Ultherapy is an exciting new technology that produces significant facial rejuvenation without surgery, and with no downtime. This non-invasive treatment uses ultrasound to visualize, then injure the deeper tissue just below the skin, completely avoiding any injury to the overlying skin itself. The body's natural healing process then creates new collagen and a tightening effect is thus achieved. Though it is not as dramatic as a surgical lift, the Ultherapy treatment can create a truly significant improvement in low set brows, lines around the eyes, early jowls, and laxity under the chin. Quintessa Medical Spa is honored by being selected to be one of the first 10 facilities to have this technology in the United States.
The treatment is performed at Quintessa Medical Spa by trained professionals with years of light and laser experience. First, the transducer is placed on the skin with some ultrasound gel, similar to a pregnancy ultrasound. The patented DeepSEE technology allows the visualization of the skin and the underlying tissue. Ultherapy then sends targeted ultrasound waves to precise locations under the skin. This ultrasound energy heats up the target area causing injury to the collagen. The body then responds by creating new collagen and this then in turn causes a tightening of the treated area. Photographs are taken before the treatment, then again 3 months after the treatment. Nine out of ten patients respond favorably with a significant visual improvement. The results last at least a year, and more than likely are "permanent". The skin will of course continue to age after the treatment so the visual effectiveness will vary by the patient's age and by how well they protect their skin in the future. There is no immediate change to the skin, so there is no downtime, and patients can resume normal activities immediately.
Ideal candidates for Ultherapy are patients in the 40-50 age range with early signs of aging, and overall healthy skin. Significant sun damage can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment, and though Ultherapy can be used in patients up to the age of 65, the healthier and more elastic the skin is, the more significant the result will be. Please call us to schedule a consultation and see if you are a good candidate for Ultherapy. |
